Chris Inskeep

Dip. EnvSc, Cert. LiDAR Technology + Applications

Science Officer / Spatial + Remote Sensing Specialist

Chris has been working in the spatial industry for over 15 years. He worked for local government in areas including asset management, natural resource management. Improving systems and methods for accurate data collection.

Chris spent 10 years with Geoscience Australia, on projects including the Australian Hydrological Geospatial Fabric (AHGF) with BoM, ANU, and the CSIRO, spending 6 months embedded with the CSIRO team. This project involved utilising the ANU National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) to process ‘big’ 3D datasets. Chris’ interest for 3D data soon developed into working with high resolution LiDAR data and worked on developing the ICSM LiDAR Acquisition Specifications and Tender Template. He also worked with New South Wales State Emergency Services looking at flood mapping data and how risk could be better communicated to communities to inform planning.

Chris brings this knowledge of spatial science together a keen interest in data and problem solving and a love for the environment.
