Vegetation assessment on the floodplains

Vegetation assessment on the floodplains

University of Canberra students visited The Mulloon Institute in October 2018, to undertake field work relating to geology, soils, hydrology, riparian corridors, land use and management in the context of landscape functionality and farm productivity.

The forty or so second year students who are studying Environmental Science were joined by Dr Leah Moore and Dr Duanne White from UC and TMI Research Coordinator Luke Peel.

The students visited several sites at Mulloon Creek Natural Farms and took part in soil sampling and analysis, water quality and depth assessment using onsite piezometers, and vegetation assessments on floodplain and riparian zones.
